With a protest march from the German city of Würzburg to Berlin in September 2012, asylum seekers wanted to bring attention to their struggles. Their uprising against the “Residenzpflicht” (residential obligation) and the living conditions in German Asylum camps became a highly debated topic in the Berlin senate after the amount of people grew rapidly on the occupied space at Oranienplatz in Berlin.

I wanted to get to know the people that went through so much in their lives already, give them a voice and let them give an outlook on their future.
